Our face-to-face workshop curriculum consists of six days of professional development workshops sequenced over one calendar year to prepare school leaders (data coaches) and data teams to apply the Using Data Procees to identify and eliminate student achievement gaps. Face-to-Face Using Data workshops are intended to bring about large-scale change within whole schools and districts. As the workshops progress, data coaches will apply thier new knowledge and skills to lead data teams through a structured process of collaborative inquiry based on the Using Data model and the 19 tasks of the Using Data Process.
Workshop sessions are sequenced so that data coaches learn a set of tasks and then go back and implement those tasks with their data teams. Generally, 3 workshop days are spent with the data coaches only, and 3 days are spent with data coaches and teams together. This process also integrates participation from district and school administrators in order to ensure that coaches and teams have the support they need. Using Data also provides support to those who have already implemented the Using Data Process in thier schools.
Through our Technical Assistance program, our experienced data facilitators can return to schools and work directly with data coaches and teams to help them sustain the work initiated during the 6-day workshop series. Each 6-day series of workshops is customized to provide the participants with the most relevant experience possible. For a detailed description of our 6-day workshop model, or to learn more about how the Using Data Professional Development Program can be implemented in your school, contact Diana Nunnaley, Project Director at 617- 547-0430 or usingdata@terc.edu.
If you are an individual data coach or team looking to implement UDP on a smaller scale, we offer our online course.
